Theory of Regeneration Based on Mass Relation
نویسنده
چکیده
1. Small stems with one large leaf in the middle produce shoots and roots chiefly at the expense of material sent into the stem by the leaf. Since the sap of the leaf can cause the formation of roots and shoots in the same notch of the leaf, it is difficult to assume that the polar character of the regeneration in the stem is due to a chemical difference in the ascending and descending sap sent by the leaf into the stem. 2. When the ascending sap sent by a leaf into the stem is caused with the aid of gravity to reach those tissues of the stem from which roots are formed, an abundant root formation is produced by the ascending sap. 3. These two observations in connection with a fact already published in a preceding paper support the idea that the polar character of regeneration in a stem of Bryophyllum is not due to any of the chemical differences between the ascending and descending sap but to a difference in the nature of the tissues or anlagen which are primarily reached by the ascending and descending sap.

متن کاملDynamics of nonlinear rectangular plates subjected to an orbiting mass based on shear deformation plate theory
In this paper, transverse and longitudinal vibration of nonlinear plate under exciting of orbiting mass is considered based on first-order shear deformation theory. The nonlinear governing equation of motion are discretized by the finite element method in combination with Newmark’s time integration scheme under von Karman strain-displacement assumptions. For validation of method and formulation...
متن کاملA Nonlocal First Order Shear Deformation Theory for Vibration Analysis of Size Dependent Functionally Graded Nano beam with Attached Tip Mass: an Exact Solution
In this article, transverse vibration of a cantilever nano- beam with functionally graded materials and carrying a concentrated mass at the free end is studied. Material properties of FG beam are supposed to vary through thickness direction of the constituents according to power-law distribution (P-FGM). The small scale effect is taken into consideration based on nonlocal elasticity theory of E...

One of great Shiite scholar, Mullah Ahmad Naraghi, alias Safaee has left a book called Taghdis which has indisputable similarities to Mathnavi Maanavi in form and meaning. This book is affected by Mathnavi Maanavi written by Rumi and considerable effort has been made to compare it to Mathnavi Maanaviin matter of composition, commencement and completion of speech and also semantic goal. In this ...
متن کاملVibration and Buckling of Double-Graphene Sheet-Systems with an Attached Nanoparticle Based on Classical and Mindlin Plate Theories Considering Surface Effects
Vibration of double-graphene sheet-system is considered in this study. Graphene sheets are coupled by Pasternak elastic medium. Classic and Mindlin plate theories are utilized for modeling the coupled system. Upper sheet carries a moving mass. Governing equations are derived using energy method and Hamilton’s principle considering surface stress effects and nonlocal parameter. Using Galerkin m...
